Björn Borg Benjamin #whyborg

Benjamin @benjaminomerovic, football

What's your favorite memory playing football?

My favorite memory is when I was voted the best central defender in the league. It was a great achievement after my first season at the senior level. It was a very proud moment.

What challenges have you faced along the way?

The biggest challenge was moving to another country and leaving friends and family behind. I moved alone and didn't know anyone. I was forced to step outside my comfort zone, which has ultimately made me so much stronger and wiser.

Who inspires you?

I measure my success by the number of lives I've changed in a positive way through my movement.

Can you tell us about your strengths?

My best strength pertaining to my art, my ability to channel my emotions so clearly, it gives the audience no choice but to feel something. No matter if the feeling is good or bad. It's still something.

What inspires you?

My friend Zurab Tsiskaridze-we played together when I was younger. HIs determination and hard work is very admirable. He's played for ten different football teams over ten years, living on every continent except Africa. He always is putting everyone else first and taught me these very important life lessons.

Do you have any favorite quotes or words you like?

“Imagine it. Believe it. Achieve it.

What's your why?

All those long bus rides with my team mates. All the people I get to know and all the places I get to see. The routines I have before every game. The happiness I feel after a win and the lessons I learn after every defeat. It's a love/ hate relationship and I can't imagine life without it.
